Good Morning all.
First of all I have to hang my head in shame, no better I just get it out & then move on!!!! I just read my last journal entry & the attached comments. Girls you make me smile & proud & ashamed at the same time! I was talking about my body combat marathon. Well....I set the alarm for 7 am, got up & went on the scales as I do every saturday morning. Normally I am pleased (isch) with what they say. Saturday I was UP 2 Kilos from what I was previous. I was totally stunned, stepped of, on, off, on, shifted scales in different position, nope same result each & every time. Ok I had a slightly bigger dinner the night before but nothing drastic. I didn't understand the world anymore. Where did I go wrong. So I went back to bed & sulked! LOL! Instead of moving my butt, I did what I used to do: Getting depressed by a gadget! How stupid!!! ( but at least I didn't go on a total food binge, I had a little more, but then that is my weekend treat)
Sunday came & the scales had crept up another 1/2 Kilo. Really??
I took a long hard look in the mirror & decided that it didn't really matter what the scales say, I can see the change in me, but my belly was a bit bloated. Maybe I was just retaining water? Have I hit this dreaded plateau that everyone seems to talk about? Hell.... so what! & instead of crawling back to bed, I got on with it. Went clay pigeon shooting, and I did pretty well for a novice without any proper training. I hit 21 out of 50 :)
So now its monday morning (again), the scales are back to saturdays reading, & I am full of beans. I know I can do this, I know we all can do this, it will take time but the weight didn't come on over night either.
Talking of ticks, oh yes they are a pain, they really disgust me. Reading about your infestation Connie: OMG....that would have really freaked me out!!! But my other half doesn't believe in using chemicals on his dogs. He only vaccinates them once after they are born & that is it. They are working dogs & he believes pumping what the vets deam as essential (& a nice income) will just weaken their immune system over time. They thrieve on an all natural diet of raw meat & vegetables. So no cans just a freezer full of chicken wings, tripe, liver heart etc. Back to the ticks, the thing with frontline & all other brands is : the dogs still get bitten by the ticks, but because of the chemical which is in the dogs system, the ticks will die once they start sucking. so you probably won't notice them, just hoover them up once they have fallen off. I am not sure which is the lesser evil. My old pooch (a black & white lurcher) never seemed to get ticks at all, but he had a very smooth, short coat, so i was lucky that I didn't have to use anything on him.
Time to go to work. Remember to drink plenty of water, smile & be happy!!!!!!!
