Well, I did the fat fast for 4.5 days and saw a total of 7.5 pounds lost (although 2 of that was definately just water). That isn't too bad for me. I really thought that I would see a gain from yesterday to today because we went to dinner at Carraba's last night but I was actually down! I am going to do the next phase of the fat fast which is to up the calories to 1200 and increase the fat to carb ratio. This plan is outlined in Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution on pages 272 - 274 for anyone who is also experiencing extreme metabolic resistance. At this point my problem is more than just a stall. I have not been able to lose any significant amount of weight for more than 2 years. It like my body will let me lose a little and then it gains it back plus some, despite my following a plan to the letter. Perhaps this fat fast is what I needed to break the resistant cycle.
