Woohoo. 3LBs down. That's motivating.
Last week I saved a bunch of 300 and 500 Cal recipes that sounded good and put them in a binder to pull from for meal planning. I tried planning ahead and following the plan but some days didn't work out as planned. Still, I was watching (or thinking over) the foods I was eating and feel like I did pretty well for a first week. The new recipes were fun and even my husband and two kids liked some.
(We are all adults here so generally fend for ourselves but I like to share -sometimes.) Planning does take more time than I thought and can be a hassle sometimes but when I don't plan, I slip more.
SO, PLANNING IS KEY! (at least until eating right becomes second nature)
The other thing I noticed is that I struggle with snacking more the later I stay up (and my will power to resist my favorite treats weakens dramatically), so that is a bit more motivation to get to bed earlier than I have been. I'm trying to establish a consistent routine for sleeping which will (hopefully) help me be more productive and routined during the day.
