After a lengthy absence I'm back. My job involves a great deal of travel, almost daily in fact, and as a result I like to use that as an excuse for poor eating habits and lack of exercise.

In truth I do travel a fair bit and meal options are not always plentiful, and quite often I'm pretty exhausted when I do make it home or to my hotel and don't feel like working out. That doesn't mean I shouldn't though. I use the excuse that sleep is more important than going for a walk or using the hotel fitness centre, when in reality I probably would feel better and sleep better if I did work out a bit before bed.

Anyway. I get pretty discouraged with this whole weight loss thing, as I'm sure anybody who would read this could relate. It seems so backwards that you work out so hard and eat so well, then you have one Purdy's Hedgehog and you gain 10 lbs (well not really, but you know what I mean). If I had three wishes I would wish that I had one of those amazing metabolism's that would burn fat at a decent rate, I would wish celery would taste like chocolate, and...world peace I guess. Either that or that I'd get to make out with Roger Daltrey or Billy Petersen. One or the other.

So back to running and eating well. My membership at WW has expired for the present and I haven't got the expendable money to sign up before Christmas. And, let's be honest, like THAT is going to happen. I've just got to keep plugging away and celebrate the small victories. One small victory that I shall celebrate for today is that even though I gave my diet the big F-YOU this past month, I'm still down a pound somehow. Nice.
