I just have to take a moment and say that long before calorie logging became popular, there were those of us who one might call anorexic obsessive compulsive types that already practiced calorie counting because we were, and are, determined to master the body and the will. We are called perfectionists. Calorie counting has never failed to keep me on track. I have gained weight in the past when I stopped counting. It's like the difference between using your debit card at the store versus paying with cash. Which do you think divorces you emotionally from the reality that you're spending hard-earned money? The debit card. Which causes you to feel your time invested trickling out between your fingers? Spending cash. Try it for two weeks...spend cash only and let me know what you conclude. I guarantee you'll start pinching pennies, and that translates to saving money!
