Competition. I do have a competitive nature and I've asked my sister in law and a friend of mine to send me photos of themselves, full body, that I can use for inspiration. If they can be thin, so can I. I've told them I need it to inspire and motivate me, which is true. But there is, for me, that little voice in the back of my head that thinks, I just CAN'T be fatter than them (they used to be fatter than me)... but the truth is I am fatter and I don't want to be. So I'm going to 'compete', and get just as fit and thin as they are :-). My sister in law used to weight around 200 lbs., and is now down to 130 lbs. and she did it the old fashioned way, but very intensely. Exercised at leasat 4 hours a day (often more, which can be overkill), and eats fruits, veggies, chicken... she is very disciplined. And really, that's all it is about any diet. They're all calorie restrictive and it's just finding the one we can stick to. But in the end, calories in, calories burned. Like my sister in law, who is all muscle at 130 lbs. I'm gonna grow up to be just like her (hee hee!).

I'm using FitDay to record my food intake, and it's amazing to see what you eat... in terms of calories, fat, protein, carbs, and so on. There is even a pie chart that let's you see what you ate more of, what percentage of your food was protein/fat/carbs, etc. Yesterday, over 50% for me was fat, and it was because I ate a bunch of peanuts...tons and tons of fat in that. But it's a wakeup call to see the visuals. I've also bought an elliptical, arrives in 2 days. I am putting it in the bedroom so I can use it first thing in the morning, and before I go to bed.

I am never, ever, ever eating Chinese takeout again. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but after tonight, I'm done. I gorge, always, and then I get so thirsty (high sodium content in that stuff) that I can't get enough water, but I am so full, that I can't drink too much of it and my stomach is pushed out to the limit... get the idea? I'm too thirsty and I can't, physically, drink enough to quench my thirst. This is what happens when you eat NOTHING all day (I didn't mean to do that) and then are starving at night. Don't do it. If I crave Chinese food, I'll make my own from now on, with less salt/sodium/soy sauce. It can be very healthy (lots of veggies, etc.), but for me, takeout makes me just overeat like crazy.
