Broke my personal record for a mile again: down to 8:35. This is awesome for me. I'm so excited.

I think one of the keys to my recent weightloss has been that I simply do not think about food very much when I'm not eating, and when I am eating, I think about it enough to curb overindulgence. For example, I was out the other night with a friend. We ordered drinks and I contemplated ordering a "gourmet" philly cheesesteak. I had already had a small dinner a few hours earlier.. so I decided to finish my drink and then see if I still felt "hungry". If I didn't, I'd know that the cheesesteak urge was just gluttony. After a few hours, I realized I wasn't hungry. So I saved myself about 700 calories right there.
Or, the other day I was at the market and I thought of getting some chips. I had already gotten chips a few days prior - so I told myself that I'd have to wait a while. It's not following a diet per se, just trying to make good decisions over the long term.
