Honestly, some protein bars contain a lot of calories and sugar. For those same amount of calories, you can have quite a bit of food that would satisfy you more. I can eat 2 eggs, lite toast and fruit for 250 calories. Salad with chicken and lite dressing and fruit. Greek yogurt with fruit and some granola. I use protein bars for a snack when working out hard. They do in a pinch, but don't satisfy very well.
