If anyone wonders if I eat everyday the same. The answer is no. I am not very good at putting in every change. The sirloin beef will be another day chicken drumsticks or fish - I only ensure that the calories are around the same values. With the veggies - the only ones that are always on my plate are broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts. There is scientific research that they help with reducing sibo and h pylori (fresh or cooked they still help). In the rest - only sky is the limit of what veggies end on my plate. I love variety.
If you are struggling with low energy or arthritis - is worth investing on a slow cooker, actifry and/or air fry.
And never be afraid to play with how you cook. You may stubble in new recipes that even if they may not look good they can taste amazing.
One more thing. I am not sure I mention before. If you already have digestive problems - fresh fruits and veggies may give you hard time. That is because they contain a protein called lectin - which main purpose is to protect plants against being eaten. Normally we have enzymes that dissolve it. But when your digestive system is already inflamed and gives you trouble - the walls/lining in the stomach and intestines became very sensitive to this protein. The solution is to boil or fry the vegies (and even fruits if you will like to do that) - how long depends on how bad your digestive system got. I put them in the slow cooker for 12 h for now (and I did it for a lot of years already). I prefer overcooked than digestive issues. Did a bit of difference but not much until I now figure out the sibo issue. Just eating healthy doesn't magically get rid of it. And about the fruits - low portions of bananas and/or berries seems to be ok.
There are research websites that have this explained in much deeper details. As before, I write these facts in the hope that may help others of you wonderful people here - that may wonder why you struggle so much not only with weight loss but trying to find healthy alternatives. All of us have a food story (beside the life story itself) behind that weight. I am trying to share some of mine in the hope that may help others.

I wish I could eat greens, unfortunately, my gut reacts so bad… vegetables ferment soooo much in my gut, that, small amounts gives me so much gas and pain, it’s insane. Very seldom I eat veggies. I envy those who can eat without problems :(

Carina read my post from October 21. I had exactly the same digestive issues like you. I explained in that post how it went away. And I am still trying to post tips as I remember them. You can even get your dr to test for sibo/h pylori - but most in the western medicine seem to find it easier to label it as IBS or 'in your head'.

And one more thing Carina (also mentioned on my journal's entries). Until your gut heals and even after you need to boil and/or fry any veggies and fruits (except maybe bananas and berries). You may be sensitive as me to the lectin (also talked about it in my posts). That is why I post - hoping that other struggling with similar issues as me will start their own journey toward better health and/or weight.

I agree with ct7055. Raw cruciferous vegetables are murder on my gut. I always cook them.
