Achieving Balance, Stability and Security. This past week instead of reaching for food, I have been playing and experimenting with my mind-set by finding stability by calming down and taking a few moments to think before I act. I realize that continuous action without pause is approprate for some of the tasks I have to do and inapporoprate if done all the time.
As I move throughout my day a good analogy of my thinking is like traveling on water like a surfboarder. My goal is to feel confident, stable and balanced. I have been practicing keeping awareness of the waves that come my way. Some waves are small and easy, others are unexpected and turbulent, while others are like the big Kahuna and all are either forseen or ones that catch me off guard. In the calm water I am discovering new ways to calm my emotions, discovering many new ways to look at what is happening and to think differently about situations by listening to my emotions that may be off balance or hanging 10!
The surf board is a symbol that represents balance and stability in my mind and it has been fun approaching the day with the idea of hanging 10 as I gain skill riding the waves of my life!
