Gooooood Morning. ^_^ So far a quiet morning at my house. Still sipping at my coffee.
Yesterday was busy with violin lessons for my oldest kid, then I took them through Wendys for their late lunch which is a usual thing for us. I had eaten earlier at the house. I got nothing for myself. Just had some protein chips as a snack in the car with my water. Then took the kids to a nursery to walk around for a bit. It was a big nursery too, quite a few acres. But we had to cut the walk short, didn't think about putting a bug band on the little one and she was being eaten up by mosquitos. She's allergic to them too. So it was a full halt and back to the car for us after only 10 mins of looking around. She got a full body spray of anti-itch stuff, then benadryl when we got home. She has a localized allergic reaction to bug bites and usually all the bites swell up, get red and hot and are all about 2-3 inches across in the effected area. She looks like she has a rash today. Not all the bite look as bad, so it seems like her reaction is getting better every year. Just par for the course for us. But she'll need an oatmeal bath later to help with the itchiness. Most of the irritation should be down in about 2-3 days, and most of it will be gone in a week.
At home we usually don't worry too much about mosquitos since we have the backyard sprayed once a month for them. The front yard isn't sprayed so we can enjoy the butterflies and bees.
Plans for today are to run by the pool store for some chemicals to balance the pool water. Laundry and packing for my Mom's this weekend. I'm going to enjoy my lower scale weight, since next week, I'll probably be dealing with fluid retention. And while I won't be having large portions of any of it, I plan to enjoy really good cooking this weekend. I think Fried shrimp and fish is on the menu for Saturday Night. Then lunch Saturday will be Chicago style pizza and beefs which is like a roast beef sandwich. One of our friends lives up there and shipped my sister a box of local food specialties for her birthday. Oh and there will be cheesecake! Yum! I'll try to remember and take pics of it all.
Besides that we will be in the pool and enjoying farm life. My youngest child will have to stay in the house and on the screen porch and pool area though since the bugs are extremely bad at my mom's house. They calm down in September and she can enjoy more normal visits there, but it is what it is.
The pictures below are of my front flowerbed at the end of June. And the lantana that I rooted in the kitchen window. The clippings came from the yellow flowering plant in the flower bed. I use a paper towel to keep the rooting powder against the plant, then just snip the rubber band off and plant the whole thing in a pot once they get roots like this.
