MAJOR aftershocks today, starting at 2am. We are back to feeling like we did on day 1 after the big quake. Parts of the city cordoned off, some buildings damaged and a lot of frightened people. Power went off, as did traffic lights. The 2am ones were strong but the 10.30am one was the worst. That is when most of the new damage was done. Hard to believe it is almost 4 months since the 7.1 quake. It's not over yet!
I guess I might not be losing weight in the near future now thanks to the stress LOL
We are getting aftershocks rolling through a LOT. I am so glad it didn't happen yesterday on Christmas Day!

Goodness gracious! How can you even get the damages repaired when you have these aftershocks still rolling through? And, what's the difference between an aftershock and a "brand new" earthquake? I sure hope things settle down pretty soon...you've been through WAY more than enough of this stuff!

Thanks Johanne - yeah Christmas Day yesterday was wonderful. We hosted the big lunch and everyone enjoyed it. We have the power back on and are getting used to the frequent aftershocks again...

Exactly Sandy! LOL. The earth just keeps breaking more things ROFL! I think they call any earthquakes within 50km of the original epicentre an aftershock for the first year, would have to check....
I hope they settle down too. We did think it was almost over but no LOL. Sitting on the toilet during an earthquake around 2am is NOT my idea of fun LOL

Squiggs, sorry to hear about the new waves of quakes...sitting on the toilet! OH MY - I would have freaked out! Talk about feeling helpless! But I am soooo glad you had a nice Christmas, and even more glad you are safe and doing ok now. And thrilled you have power back so you can be on here and take your mind off it for awhile. Love.

Oh Squiggs, I am so sorry to hear about your horrible experience. I thought for sure the major ones were over for you folks. Please stay safe. Hang in there, you will lose your weight. I have faith in you and I will pray that all stay safe and they stop. Hugs, Hugs, Hugs.:)

Yeah Myree we are shocked too. And were so sure we had been through the worst of the bigger aftershocks. I wish someone could stop them LOL

Thanks Feeling, I don't think we could have imagined living through it before it happened but you just have to. Can't do much else but roll with it (excuse the pun ROFL!)
I think I have had 3 good nights sleep in just under 4 months...
