Never boiled an egg in the microwave. I'm on your side here. I just do it on the stove like normal people. lol

Funny, my wife swears by this little plastic thing, but boy did I screw up. Now I'm trying to eat the egg off the side walls, but the egg shells are too crunchy. lol

I would def not do in microwave...boil old fashioned way or bake them in the oven :) Lots of help on the net for the non cooking groups for basics like this....I don't use the mic often for food..just to reheat something. Tho if you have to I would recommend boiling them in water in the mic...here is a video to show you how ;) not my vid btw

Ok, thanks, and I will watch that video. I have always had problems with hardboiled eggs that are easy to shell.

I cook eggs in the microwave a few times a week at work. I also use a mug or small microwave safe bowl that has been coated with cooking spray with a dash of salt or pepper on the bottom and put my cracked eggs in the bowl and poke the yokes a few times with a tooth pick. Sometimes I will scramble the eggs. I then cook it on medium heat in spurts of 30 seconds, checking between times to see if it is cooked enough for me. You can hard-boil eggs in mass at the beginning of the week though on the stove or in the oven and they will last the week in the refrigerator.

I use the same device..When you place the eggs in the container you "MUST" add a 1/2 teaspoon water to each side and cook in microwave for 50 to 60 seconds.

Poke the egg yoke, so the air can escape. That should keep your egg from blowing up.,

Yes piercing the yolk is a must and you may have cooked them too long and also they should be covered with a paper towel. There is also an egg cooker a stone egg cooker from pampered chef that is almost fool-proof, if you read the info sheet and follow the instructions properly.

Does this really make hard boiled eggs? The picture I found that looks like this says it's an egg poacher, which is not the same as hard boiled. I did find the video referenced by Skellygirl, but most of the other references say you have to cook the eggs out of the shell to avoid explosions. I agree with the others here who recommend cooking on the stove top, although I do cook them in the microwave if I want scrambled and don't want to dirty a skillet.

Hey, Warren. Did you know you can cook a chicken in a microwave without killing it or cleaning it? The explosion will gut it and then you can simply nibble from the inside out. No plucking or nothing! Do it! Take pictures! :D

Please keep trying someday you may be on your own. First take just a little butter and place it into the 2 of the cups then brake one egg at a time into two of the cup along with the butter. Now cook 45 second if not long enough add 10 more seconds. I pray this will help. Know one is stupid and there is no stupid question.
I use one of these and there great.

haha, i did this before at a job and almost got fired. The eggs become hot, fast moving solid projectiles. They a almost hit several persons in the lunch room.
No shortcut I know of, get a small pot and boil. If you don't have a stove, boil the water in the microwave, then set the eggs in the water and cover. It might take a few rounds.

Exploding eggs, eh? I have to admit I'm chuckling.

I used to use one of those microwave egg poachers when I was working and needed a quick breakfast in the morning. I didn't care for the texture but the eggs were edible. I agree with the others about adding a little water to the bottom of each cup. I can't remember how long I cooked them but I remember it taking a few tries to get the time right..

Get a fork and mix the yolk with the white before putting in oven. I also learnt this the hard way haha.
